A warm and welcoming island destination tucked away in the northern
Caribbean. Embraced by unrivaled white beaches and breathtaking
turquoise seas, Anguilla is casual and easy, a unique blend of high
style and low-key elegance, and the best of the good life set to a slow
and casual island tempo. Anguilla is an experience that captivates our
visitors and creates friendships and memories that last a lifetime.
Anguilla is the best of all Caribbean islands because of what it is (and has) and what it is not. Anguilla is not have
- Overcrowded... no cruise boat tourists, no jumbo jets, and you get the beaches all to yourself!
- Rainy/Cloudy... Anguilla is flat; there are no mountains (like so many other Caribbean islands have). That means few clouds, lots of sunshine and little rain (and even that, mostly at night!). Parts of Anguilla are literally desert!
- Racial tension... the people here are so warm, the smiles genuine. Unlike many Caribbean islands, the land was not rich enough to support cotton and sugar growing. So slavery was never as terrible and widespread as in the other Caribbean islands.
- Crime... you're safe, no matter where you are, or when. Of course, don't push it. While we were there, a visitor left his car doors open, with $2,000 cash, a Rolex and a passport. Guess what? They weren't in the car when he got back!
- McDonald's... no chains, no franchises allowed. This is a 100% genuine, tropical Caribbean island getaway. And if you do like chains, don't worry, you'll never eat better than you do in Anguilla.
- Shopping... oops. The only drawback. There are very few really nice shops. But no problem! When you need to shop, the French and Dutch Caribbean island of St. Martin / St. Maarten is only a 20 minute ferry ride away.
Besides the special little things that make Anguilla truly unique,
it also manages to get an A+ in all the important subjects that would make an island "the best of all Caribbean
islands."
Anguilla has 33 beaches, each one spectacular in its own way.
Each one remains unrivaled by any beach on any other Caribbean island.
Anguilla beaches are like no other, with the softest, finest sand, and
clearest, azure waters.
They range from the super-serene Little Harbor to the always-wild Windward Bay, from the popular East Shoal Bay (voted by many authorities as "best beach in all the Caribbean islands) Little Harbor |
East Shoal Bay |
Windward Bay |
The casual beach bars that line Anguilla's flawless shores are certainly
my Dad's favorite topic! Every Anguilla beach has one or more beach
bars. Whether they are...
quiet and sophisticated |
cool and crazy! |
Everyone comes to Anguilla to truly get away...
From Anguilla's Eastern edge... |
... No doubt it, you will find that Anguilla is the most spectacular, tasty, and friendly of all the Caribbean islands!
